If Make My Ringtone doesn’t work for you then please post to this forum. Be sure to specify your wireless carrier, your phone manufacturer and your phone model as well as a description of what has gone wrong. Other users may be able to help or share their experiences. Mobicious staff are also monitoring this forum and will try to resolve any problems. Please note the following common issues:
Q. Why does the upload take so long? A. If you upload an MP3 music track it can typically be 3 to 5MB of data. Even on a broadband connection this can take several minutes to transfer to the server. Please be patient. We do plan to provide an upload progress bar as a future enhancement. When the upload has completed, the MP3 title and artist will be displayed with a graphic showing the ringtone waveform.
Q. Why is the wrong image displayed for the music I uploaded? A. We attempt to find relevant artwork for the MP3 that you have uploaded. This image is used to identify the ringtone if you decide to save it to your personal “My Mobicious” area. (You will need to set up an account to be able to save your ringtones). Sometimes we may find no artwork (or even the wrong artwork) for the track. This does not affect the ringtone download to your handset.
Q. Mobicious says the ringtone has been sent but I have not received anything on my mobile phone. A. It can take from a few seconds to as long as 20-30 minutes for the ringtone to arrive at your mobile phone. This is carrier dependent. If you have not received your ringtone after 30 minutes then try again. If it still does not work then post to this forum with details on your carrier, mobile phone manufacturer and model as suggested above.
Q. I have received the file from Mobicious on my handset – how do I make it into a ringtone? A. This is handset dependent. Usually there is a menu option to “Save as ringtone” or “Save sound”. Consult your phone user manual for further information. Once you have successfully saved the ringtone you should be able to set it as a ringtone in the normal way for your handset. If you are having problems please post to this forum. Another user or one or the Mobicious staff may be able to help you.
