Topic: Help / Not receiving ringtones

I have a Samsung A645 and my carrier is Telus. I downloaded Audacity and made a small 20 second sample from a song and then I extracted it as an MP3 using LAME MP3. I then used this website to text it to my phone but got nothing. Possible problems: I’m a Canadian and this is an American server or my phone doesn’t support MP3 and if so what can I do from here?

im having problems on my cell phone as well.
i have a verizon wireless LG chocolate phone
i do receive the text messages, but i can’t save the pictures into my phone, or even erase the texts from my phone! what’s going on? there are other problems as well – my phone lags, my cancel button doesnt work as well, as well as other problems.
please help me as soon as possible! im freaking out!

ok i used to have an LG VX8350 and i got the ringtones now i have a samsung SCH-u540 and i don’t even get a text message at all..please answer as fast as you can that would be awesome!

i’ve sent myself 2 ringtones and i have them successfully set as a ringtone but i’ve tried many times for a third one and it won’t send to my phone even though it says it has. I have the verizon samsung juke but i don’t think it is my phone because i get other songs.

In many cases the issue has nothing to do with the phone and everything to do with the Carrier. Most people will receive an SMS message with a link to the ringtone they created. You then follow the link to download the ringtone. If you don’t have a plan that supports messaging you probably won’t get the SMS message. (Some carriers also seem to be filtering messages. I’m not sure why.) If you don’t have a data plan you won’t be able to download your ringtone once the SMS with the link arrives.

i have the LG enV too and it hasnt sent it to my phone!
also, i have a bunch of full length songs on my phone under “my sounds” but i dont know how to make them ringtones… or if thats even possible! any help?

We changed the server hosting company. Along these lines we needed to change our outgoing mail servers. Give it a try again. It should work now.

We’ve just recently changed our outgoing mails servers to be something a little more reliable. Give it a try again and see if the new servers work.

Another possibility is that your operator is filtering your message. Possibly because we are sending you a link to your ringtone in the message. (But I’m guessing here.) What operator are you using and do you have a data plan?

Normally you’d get a text message with a link to the ringtone. You’d then retreive the link to get the ringtone. Are you getting the text message?

Hi Sam,

I have a blackberry pearl phone. I just scroll down the message until the link is selected and click. A menu pops up and I choose “Get Link” and the ringtone downloads. I then save it and choose the set as ringtone checkbox and it just works. Do you have a data plan and what kind of phone are you using?

I think that in most cases you get a text message with a link to the ringtone on the site. You then “Get link” to get the ringtone. Note that a lot of phones will NOT play mp3 ringtones. I personally have a Blackberry Pearl and ringtones work fine.

how do i transfer the ringtone to my phone??

I am having the same problem. I have tried a number of different mp3 files yet still no luck. Could this be a network issue seeing as how I am working from a school campus at the moment?
